Hi, I just want to say thanks to all who participated in the self defence skills clinic.

The turnout was light, but that was partly due to late advertising and some glitches in getting the online brochure out in sufficient time.

Also, many people did not want to attend the clinic because the Carlsbad marathon races were the next day – but we actually had one participant who came to the clinic, and the next day she ran the FULL , P.R.’d AND qualified for Boston!!! Her comment to me was” “They should have come [to the clinic]…”

I’ve heard a few of the participants say that they would like to continue to learn these skills and more and have a chance to work on them regularly. I’d like to offer some ‘continuing Ed’ classes for self defence and am working on an idea for a series of sessions. Some people who were unable to attend have suggested that a weekend day or earlier time in the week during the evening would be preferable. I’d like to know what works best for more people and try to work with that.

For those of you interested in learning more about Karate, you can contact the Traditional Martial Arts Center and speak with Peer, the head instructor. He gave such a good seminar – included all of the customary warm-ups (so we would not pull any muscles or get hurt) and the meditative traditions as well.

Please come out and join next time this is held; you won’t regret it! Time well spent!

    Anna
